Daniel was born at Herrick Memorial Hospital in Berkeley, California. His parents were facing a large debt at the time and gave him up to a foster home, in which he was cared for until adoption. He was adopted when he was 16 months old by Judy and Frankie Gay, a.k.a Frankie Gaye (Sibling of Marvin Gay (a.k.a Marvin Gaye)). Dan would always go to recording studio's with his dad when he was very young. Having ties to show business are a great asset to Daniel.
When Daniel was 15, his favourite novel was Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. Daniel and a couple of friends were inspired by this book to make there own fight club after school. This club lasted until Dan was 17 and moved onto university. While in university, Dan was torn between music and fighting, and decided to take up both. Dan is taking a music/business course while wrestling and kickboxing for the university.
Personal life:
Daniel has always been a ladies man. He lost his virginity when he was 15 while in a threesome. Dan, having an African-American father, was subject to the stereotype that he had a large love muscle, which was a true stereotype. Dan in recent years has taken part in adult films for extra cash to fund a studio he is currently building. Because DJ Flex has not received formal (or any) training in wrestling, he tends to fight like a brawler/striker. All his moves seem unorthodox and obsolete but because DJ has fought so much in his life, he has perfected these moves to do damage no one anticipates.
